Berta Canivell is a director-producer from Barcelona. She began her career as a freelance filmmaker, back in 2010. She has worked doing videos for many kinds of brands and customers (Rolling Stone Mag, Mondosonoro, RNE, Warner Music, El Segell del Primavera, etc) . From interviews to music videos, corporate videos, product videos…
She gained experience in all production stages while she managed to shoot short films with the school mates. There she learned a lot about the Camera and Lightening dep.
After a few years floundering in the audiovisual sector, she felt lost, there was a lack of something – She needed to tell her own stories, create her own worlds and characters. Consequently, she gave herself a shot and she aimed to study direction in Bande À Part master’s degree. During that year she wrote and directed her first short film “Ancestre (Ancester)” as her final school project. After that she founded Nightwalk Films, in 2019. She wrote and directed her second short film “Vermo”. Moreover, started producing other fiction and documentary projects. Not satisfied with that, she convinced herself to upgrade her production knowledge. She did the film business Master in ESCAC and since then she has produced her firs documentary film “Balika” premiered in Malaga Film Festival.
